OUR MISSION
The mission of The First Tee of Northwest Florida is to positively impact the lives of young people by promoting character development and life-enhancing values through the First Tee's "Life Skills Learning Experience" and the game of golf. The Mission is based on Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy and Judgment.
Since the founding of our Local Chapter in 2003, we have worked to spread character education and junior golf to the counties of the Florida Panhandle through 53 National School Programs in area schools (Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa) and at 10 Golf Course program sites: Osceola Municipal Golf Course (Pensacola), Stonebrook Golf Club (Pace), Tanglewood Golf Club (Milton), Marcus Point Golf Course (Pensacola), The Club at Hidden Creek (Navarre) Tiger Point Country Club (Gulf Breeze) and our Military Affiliate Programs at A.C. Read Golf Course (NAS Pensacola), Gator Lakes Golf Course (Hurlburt AFB), Whiting Field NAS Golf Course, and Eglin AFB Golf Course.
Incorporating the Summer Tour of the Greater Pensacola Junior Golf Association and in partnership with the Pensacola Sports Association and Par Four Charities, we strive in particular to reach young people who otherwise might not have an opportunity to learn and play the game of golf and to learn its inherent values. The First Tee of Northwest Florida is committed to growing the game while ensuring that our programs are accessible and affordable to youth of all backgrounds, diversities, social strata and physical abilities, and always regardless of income or ability to pay.

Scholars Program & Scholarship Opportunities
Local Scholarships for First Tee Life Skills Clinic & Summer Tour Program Participants
Each year, The First Tee of Northwest Florida gives away two unrestricted college scholarships (one male, one female) valued at $1500 each to graduating seniors who are entering college in the fall of that year. Scholarships recipients are selected based on the following criteria:
1) Academic Achievement
2) Volunteer and Community Service
3) Financial Need
4) Years Participating in Program
While level of participation in the program(s) of The First Tee of Northwest Florida is a part of the criteria, please note that golfing ability is not a factor in the ratings process, which is conducted by an outside committee through a “blind” review of each candidate’s application. For more information or to request an application, please contact Scholarship Committee Chairman Steve Bobe via e-mail at steve.bobe@navy.mil
We will post the deadline to apply for one of the 2012 scholarships when date is determined; Scholarships will be awarded the evening of Thursday, July 26th at the Annual Divot Derby Awards Banquet.

HOLE-IN-ONE 2010
The First Tee of Northwest Florida would like to recognize our participants that have achieved a Hole-in-One! Here are their stories:
Ben Brown of The First Tee of Northwest Florida
Story submitted by Angi Brown
My 13-year old son, Ben Brown, is an Eagle Certified participant of The First Tee of Northwest Florida who also plays in the summer tour. He had his first hole-in-one on October 8, 2010. He was playing at his home course, Stonebrook Golf Club, when he scored his ace on the Par 3, 130 yard 5th hole using his 4 hybrid. Lucky for me, his mom, I was there to witness his achievement
 Congratulations Ben Brown!
Jade Sanders of The First Tee of Northwest Florida
Jade Sanders, 12 year old First Tee participant, clinched the 12-13 girls division title of the first Tee of Northwest Florida’s 17th Annual Tom Dorsey Winter Classic with her first career ace on her final hole at A.C. Read Golf Course. She pulled a 2-iron hybrid out of her bag and uncorked destiny. The ball bounced three times, rolled another three feet and vanished into the cup. Sanders dropped her mouth open, then her club. “It was pretty awesome” said Terry Sanders, Jade’s father. “(The crowd around the green) threw their hands in the air, and that’s when we really knew. She said, ‘Oh my God!’ We were both amazed.” – As reported by Pensacola News Journal correspondent Chuck Corder
 Congratulations Jade Sanders!
